Our Mission

Our office is dedicated to giving you the highest quality of orthodontic care in a family-based, high-technology practice. Using proven state-of-the-art technology to enhance your experience, we maintain the most advanced procedures and equipment available to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile.

Appointments

After the initial placement of your braces, we will be seeing you approximately every four to eight weeks. It is very important that we see you at the scheduled appointments in order to successfully finish treatment in the estimated treatment time. Please call our office within 24 hours if you have to cancel an appointment. If there are more than three missed or failed appointments, there will be a broken appointment fee assessed. For your convenience, each time you are scheduled for an appointment, our automated system will call your home telephone between 7 and 9 the evening before, to remind you of the appointment time and location and to request confirmation. If you have an answering machine, a message will be left giving the appointment information.

Our policy regarding after-school appointments is to share as equally as possible the during-school and after-school appointments. If you have an after-school appointment this month, your next appointment should be scheduled during school hours. This makes it possible for all students to miss as little school as possible. However, ALL long appointments (30 minutes or more) and certain doctor-intensive appointments must be scheduled in the morning. If you should miss an appointment without rescheduling 24 hours in advance, you will be rescheduled during school hours.

Work/School Excuse

We will happily provide you with a doctor’s note verifying your presence at your orthodontic appointment. If a school has an extremely strict absence policy, you may need to contact the principal directly prior to the beginning of treatment. Also, if you are checking a student out of school for an orthodontic appointment, allow extra time at the school. It often takes more time than expected to locate the student on campus.

Broken Appliances

Report any lost, broken or loose braces or retainers immediately, and ALWAYS CALL BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT if you have any damage to your braces or removable appliances. In the case of a broken or lost retainer, a replacement fee is due at the time impressions are taken for a new retainer.

Excessive Missed Appointments or Broken Appliances

These two factors consistently increase treatment time and costs. Our policy regarding excessive appliance breakage or missed appointments is:

  • Step 1: Chairside counseling with the patient.
  • Step 2: A letter is sent to the parent or responsible party.
  • Step 3: A parent/patient conference is held.
  • Step 4: After the patient/parent conference, a $20 charge will be applied per incident.

Insurance

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services and allow them 45 days to render payment. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
